For us, debt collection does not start upon the default of a debtor, rather, we aim to advise you and represent clients in such a way that if possible, defaults are reduced. One way in which we achieve this is by critically looking at the basic agreements (where clients have some), or recommending for adoption (where no written debt instruments are in use) proper agreements to form the basis of clients’ relationship with debtors.
The advantage of our approach is that we are able to secure clients’ legal interests by ensuring that the terms of the agreement are clear and easy to enforce. This reduces the costs and time to recover any debts for clients.
We also aim to ensure that we advise clients and if necessary, train relevant staff, as to how to properly carry out due diligence on each and every debtor. This strategy ensures that clients have higher chances of recovery when debtors do default. Wherever possible, we aim to make the debtors liable for the costs of all proceedings that result from default.
